"Good Job & Local Business"

I had my furnace serviced today. I have been living in Brookside for 44 years and I must say that this was a pleasant experience. The appointment was for 9 AM and sure enough there he was. He came to the door and introduced himself. He asked if he could use the basement entrance, but the front door was a lot closer and I suggested that he use that entrance. The first thing he did was put on a pair of overshoes (booties, like they use in the OR) and had his tools with him. He proceeded to the basement where he was to perform surgery on the furnace. Well, through the years I have watched my furnace serviced many times and I have never seen the care and detail that this man used to carry out his job at hand. Through conversation he suggested a couple things that I should do; not required, but good suggestions (have been done). He finished his job at hand, cleaned up, and made up the bill, which was very reasonable. So as I said at the beginning, a pleasant experience. “Reasonable Prices & Meticulous Workmanship”

Candu was recommended to us by a trusted acquaintance. My wife and I found them to be friendly and available when we called. They gave us a quote for an upgrade to our furnace which would make it more efficient and would save money. We hired them and found that they were prompt, their prices were reasonable and the workmanship was meticulous. We have already noticed the efficiency in our furnace. We are now going to rely on them to do our yearly maintenance.

We had an indirect hot water tank added to our existing boiler; added an additional relay and wiring to control circulators in order to further reduce short cycling, and had a programmable thermostat and water faucet put in the garage. Our impressions:

The service I received from Candu Enterprises was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable, Darryl had no problem sorting out the issues and getting the job done quickly and for a great price. What I really appreciated the most was the fact that I could tell that when the bill total started climbing Darryl started looking for ways to make it more affordable without compromising the work. “Expertise & Dedication”

I woke up on December 30th, 2010 to a basement flooded with water. It was coming from my furnace. Not just a broken valve - from the main body of the furnace. My basement was a sauna! I called Darryl Struik at Candu Enterprises. Am I glad I did!

Darryl came out in less than an hour. After helping me clean up and stop the water, he determined that my old furnace was not fit to repair. It was akin to trying to fix an old black and white TV. It was time for a new furnace. Keep in mind that on December 30th many businesses closed for the holidays at noon. Darryl was able to source a furnace from his supplier and delivered it quickly.

Much to my surprise, Darryl was willing to install my furnace on New Year’s Day. Not a great way to spend a holiday. He does have a wife and two young children at home, after all. He rolled up his sleeves and set to work. The man didn't leave my home until the heat was back on - which was at about 8:00 p.m. This level of expertise and dedication is hard to come by in this day and age.

My new furnace is ultra-efficient and my oil consumption is down 35% compared to this time last year.
